Course Description

This training is a prerequisite to the certification process for the Enterprise Green Communities Criteria for HPD-financed projects.

The Climate Ready Buildings training educates affordable housing project teams – including building owners, architects, and contractors – on how to design and construct high-performance buildings that are resilient against the increasing pressure of climate change and align with NY’s climate goals.

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how the climate crisis and subsequent NY policies impact the building industry, insight into design and construction strategies, such as Integrative Design Process (IDP), and HPD-specific funding opportunities.

Successful completion of this comprehensive training is required to meet HPD funding requirements and comply with the New York City Overlay of the Enterprise Green Communities Criteria. For teams seeking funding/certification, please send the certificate of completion of this course to the appropriate HPD channel.
